It has been about 5 weeks into the semester so far, and I am still going strong with all of my classes. Currently, I am still waiting to hear back from Escambia County on my background check but I should be getting started with my internship pretty soon. In the meantime, I have been completing ESRI training and class assignments for the internship class. One assignment that really stuck with me in regards to my future in this field was our GIS job search assignment. It made me really think about what I want to do in the GIS field and learn more steps I need to complete before I get going. There are plenty of GIS jobs out in the workforce but I had to find one that meant the most to me in the impact I would make. It also made me realize I still have a lot of work to do if I want to be successful. I am hoping that this class and my internship will be the necessary experience needed for me to be confident in my field.
